Bailey Point Nature Preserve Habitat Restoration Open House
Come to learn about the upcoming habitat restoration project at Bailey Point Nature Preserve — Elk River’s beloved destination for local outdoor enthusiasts — on Thursday, November 15, from 4:30-6 p.m. at Elk River City Hall.
Thanks to a grant from the state of Minnesota, Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) will embark on a 4-year project to restore the Preserve to historical prairie and oak savanna. At this public open house, project leaders will talk about the changes you’ll see over the next three years and the benefits these changes will bring for habitat, wildlife, and water. You’ll have a chance to meet the project team: staff from the city's Parks and Recreation Department, Friends of the Mississippi River, and Applied Ecological Services. And you can find out how to get involved.
