Twin Lakes Road Corridor Study Open House

Twin Lakes Road Corridor
Study Open House on Nov. 14

If you frequently travel along Twin Lakes Road (CSAH 13), or you’re simply curious about how the regional traffic growth is impacting this vital transportation link, don’t miss the upcoming Twin Lakes Road Corridor Study Open House on Wednesday, November 14 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Twin Lakes Elementary School (10051 191st Ave. NW). The purpose of the study is to identify current and future conditions of Twin Lakes Road, which will help guide the city and Sherburne County on ways to best address issues and improvements needed to enhance mobility along the corridor, proactively and cost effectively. This is the second Twin Lakes Road Corridor Study Open House, and the feedback from residents and commuters at the June event was incredibly helpful.

Street Sweeping in Elk RIver

A Clean Sweep in Elk River

You may have noticed Elk River Public Works staff out and about around the city sweeping up the remnants of fall. Not only does street sweeping beautify the city, but it also helps prevent pollution in local bodies of water because it stops debris from entering the stormwater system. Here are a few tips to help us make the street sweeping operation as efficient as possible:
  • Don’t rake or dump yard debris in the street.
  • Keep your garbage/recycling containers in your driveway on collection day, not in the street.
  • Basketball hoops should be kept in your driveway, as to not impede the sweeping process.
  • If you typically park on the street, consider switching up your parking spot for a few days (especially if you’re parking in a pile of leaves each day).
