Winter Reminders!

With the groundhog predicting winter sticking around longer and the recent snowfall it's a good time to for a couple of updates!

The Streets Division is conducting snow removal and clean-up operations throughout the city over the course of the next week.It is necessary to remove snowbanks along curb lines and hauling snow piles from city owned property. Please use caution around heavy equipment and keep a safe distance from plow trucks.

Please place your containers behind the curb and not in the street or they may be hit by the plow trucks and damaged. If your mailbox has been hit by a plow truck or your sod damaged a temporary mailbox will be put up (if needed) until the ground warms up to replace it with a permanent mailbox. Any sod that needs to be repaired will happen when the frost is gone.

We ask the community for your patience during the clean-up process.

Food Trucks May be Coming to Elk River Soon

The City Council has been reviewing food truck licensing for Elk River over many months now. On Monday night they will again be reviewing a draft ordinance for possible adoption. The proposed ordinance would allow food trucks throughout the city if they meet certain regulations, such as state licensure, insurance, hours of sales, signage, noise, locations/parking, and litter concerns. The Council meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., March 5. Access the March 5 Council packet here
