Active Elk River Progress Report

Active Elk River Progress Report

December left Active Elk River crews faced with sub-zero temps, snowstorms, holiday scheduling conflicts and more – but despite all that, things at the multipurpose facility and Lion John Weicht Park are on schedule and progressing nicely!

At the multipurpose facility, stadia seating was completed in both the east and west arena, joist and decking was finished which made way for roofing crews to mobilize on site. To the south at Lion John Weicht Park, blockwork on the concession/restroom building was completed along with the bleachers for both fields.

Winter Walking Series at Woodland

Moonlit Walking Tour at Woodland Trails Regional Park Monday, Jan. 13

When you live in Minnesota, cabin fever can be all too real. That's why it's important to find an outdoor activity/hobby to enjoy during the long winter months!

Elk River Parks and Recreation is hosting a series of magical moonlit walks at Woodland Trails Regional Park, with the first this Monday, January 13. This professionally guided walk, led by two Woodland Trails park volunteers, will lead attendees along the most beautiful groomed winter trails in search of both serenity and wildlife.

Look for the group in the parking lot of Woodland Trails Regional Park located at 20135 Elk Lake Rd. NW at 6:00 p.m. Bring a flashlight or head lamp and be sure to dress for the weather and wear proper winter walking shoes or boots. Can't make Monday's walk? Don't worry, same time, same place on Monday, February 10 and Monday, March 9.
