The Elk River Police Department Honor Guard was established in 2001. The Honor Guard, commanded by Sergeant Don Birdsall, represents ERPD at local funeral services honoring fallen peace officers in addition to the following community events:
- Peace Officers' Memorial Standing of the Guard
- Veterans Day commemoration
- Parades
- Posting of Colors at civic events
