Back by popular demand! Meet your neighbors and score some deals by taking part in the 2022 Citywide Garage Sale the third weekend in May.

SwappER Shop - Saturday, May 21

Sherburne County Fairgrounds
9:00-11:00 a.m.

Residents are invited to bring items that aren’t their style anymore, while having the opportunity to take home your own “new to you” treasures donated by other SwappER shoppers! What’s more, these are totally free to attend, and no money is exchanged - everything must be given and taken freely. 

The inaugural SwappER Shop is garden themed. Keep an eye out when decluttering the garage or shed for items in good condition that are simply taking up space and not being used, including: 

  • Lawn and garden décor 
  • Bird houses, bird feeders, bird baths 
  • Planters and flowerpots (plastic, clay, ceramic)
  • Shovels, rakes, trowels, pitchforks, etc.
  • Hand tools
  • Gardening and plant books

Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 30Memorial Day Parade - Monday, May 30

Elk River is set to host a Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 30 at 10:00 a.m. The parade begins on Norfolk Street, just east of Handke Pit, and will run down Main Street to King Avenue, where attendees are encouraged to gather at Rivers Edge Commons Park for a Memorial Day ceremony at 10:30 a.m.

The parade includes members of the Elk River American Legion and VFW posts, as well as ISD 728 Cadets. The Legion Auxiliary, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, Legion Riders and several other organizations are also planning to participate. If you’re an Elk River Veteran who is not a member of the Legion or VFW, you are encouraged take part in the parade as well. Please report in uniform to Norfolk Street at 9:15 a.m. on Memorial Day.

Farmers Market2019 Farmers Market flowers

Parks and Recreation hosts a weekly Farmers Market every Thursday starting June 16, 2022, through October 6 in the heart of Elk River at the downtown Park Plaza parking lot located at 716 and 720 Main Street. 

The Farmers Market has live music as well as special guests and promotions throughout the season.
