Homelessness and Emergency Food and Shelter

Family Homeless Prevention & Assistance Program
FHPAP works with families or singles who are homeless or are at imminent risk of homelessness, or living in shelters to stabilize their lives. By providing services such as budget counseling, assisting with damage deposits or first month's rent, the FHPAP program’s primary emphasis is to prevent homelessness, re-house persons, and eliminate homelessness. These programs also assist youth and veterans, in addition to those who are seriously and persistently mentally ill with housing needs. Click here for a

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must live in Stearns, Sherburne, Benton or Wright County
  • If currently living in shelter, homeless without shelter or transitional housing you are eligible
  • No MFIP sanctions
  • Provide proof of income
  • Late/Eviction or Foreclosure notice
  • Signed Lease
  • County denial for Emergency Assistance

Emergency Food & Shelter Program
This program works with families or singles who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness, or living in shelters to stabilize their lives, by providing rent or mortgage assistance.  This program runs approximately March through September of each funding year and can be utilized once every three years.
